I've decided to keep this blog more up-to-date by posting more frequently, though the posts may be shorter and less .... ahem .... literarily inclined? So I've come up with the idea (let's see how long THAT lasts) of the weekend recap - to give you all a quick taste of Sebi's doing in the past week. He is at the point where he is growing and changing SO fast, that he literally does three new things every day, and life for us has become a constant series of double-takes and "Wows." So I figured it would be easier to keep you updated in small morsels of wonderment, which is what our every day has turned into...
Sebi is incredibly talkative now. From the moment he wakes up to the time his head hits the pillow, his every action is accompanied by a running commentary in "Sebinese" interspersed with a few recognizable words. Add to that the fact that the recognizable words are in two languages! His latest talent is that he can now carry a tune, so when he's building a tower of blocks and starts singing "A,B,C,D,E,F,G.." to himself, everyone in the room suddenly looks up in surprise. (In our enthusiasm we'll usually join him in chorus, which'll make HIM suddenly look up in surprise!)

He has also suddenly become obsessed with organizing - everything has a place, and it must go in its place. If he finds a rock in the garden, it must be returned to its original position before moving on. He has taken to picking up tiny pieces of mulch and carrying back to the flower beds where they "belong." Inside the house, similarly, he has a system for where everything must go. When my mom took out a towel from the linen closet, and Sebi immediately took her into the bathroom to show her the towel rack where towels are supposed to go. When he finishes drinking his milk, the sippy cup must go on top of the kitchen counter (and much stretching and contorting ensues to make sure it gets there.)

His curiosity has full rein, and it is a joy to just follow him from activity to activity watching him explore and discover - eating a meal, taking pictures out of a photo album, smelling flowers, "cleaning" the floor with any piece of tissue he gets his hands on, alternately coloring with and stacking his crayons - everything is done with with great single-mindedness and focus.
Talk about taking joy in the little things!
