Not to say that big things are brewing. But there's a quiet satisfaction to the gearing up before the big push. Of knowing that you've gathered some momentum and now can coast along until the finish line is in sight. Multiply that by a thousand, or ten thousand, and that is everyday life. Small projects and large ones, lots of little victories, unexpected outcomes, regrouping, and moving on to the next one.
As I try to decide on birthday presents for Sebi's friends, Alex prepares for an exam, Sebi lies asleep. I work on a strategy to get more organized at work, Alex prepares dinner, Sebi recovers from a cold. I make a cup of tea, Alex Skypes with his mom, Sebi says "Happy! Happy!"
But as a whole, when it is all part of your everyday life, the combined effect is ..... restful.
And right now, when I have a moment to step back and look a it, and marvel at all the myriad of little moments that make up my every day, and admire their colors. And listen to the gentle chuck....chuck....chuck...the rhythm of a happy life.
